Muzaffarnagar, June 11 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on Wednesday that saints have illuminated the path of unity and harmony for society—a path that guarantees safety, promotes progress, and helps avert occurrences similar to Kairana and Kandhla.

He highlighted that this spiritual journey builds resilience in challenging times and encourages collective strength.

While speaking at a significant gathering of saints and a satsang at Shuktirth in Muzaffarnagar, the Chief Minister honored Swami Gyan Bhikshuk Das Ji Maharaj on his 65th death anniversary and remembered Satguru Samandas Ji Maharaj. The event also celebrated the spiritual heritage of Satguru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.

Yogi Adityanath referred to Swami Gyan Bhikshuk Das as a divine figure who advanced the teachings of Satguru Ravidas in Shuktirth.

He recounted how, during the medieval period, when foreign adversaries sought to undermine India’s religion and culture, Satguru Ravidas Ji stood as a beacon of hope in Seergovardhan, Kashi.

“The inspiration he provided through Karmasadhana continues to lead our nation and its people,” the CM remarked, adding, “He battled against social evils and hollow rituals, fostered spiritual consciousness, and emphasized the importance of karma.”

Quoting Ravidas Ji’s renowned phrase, “Man changa to kathauti mein Ganga,” Adityanath indicated that it represents inner purity and the significance of a clean heart.

He pointed out that the vision of equality and dignity championed by Sant Ravidas is being actualized today through initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

“This initiative, inspired by the teachings of the saints, has provided food to over 81 crore individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic,” he asserted.

Yogi also emphasized the development of Ravidas Ji’s birthplace, Seergovardhan.

“Before 2014, the roads were single-lane. Under the leadership of PM Modi, it is now linked by a four-lane road. The ashram has been enhanced with a statue, park, and food facilities developed over extensive land,” he noted.

Referring to Shuktirth as a mythological and spiritual pilgrimage destination, the CM recounted its importance as the site where Shukdev Ji narrated the Bhagwat Katha to Raja Parikshit 5,000 years ago.

“The continuous flow of Mother Ganga symbolizes the eternal values of Sanatan Dharma,” he stated.

Yogi Adityanath announced various developmental initiatives for the site, including the construction of a ghat, road expansion, improved parking facilities, beautification efforts, and a new satsang hall near the Samandas Ashram to comfortably accommodate more devotees.

He also emphasized the significance of effective governance in conjunction with the guidance of saints, asserting, “Real change occurs only when both align.” He noted how Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, despite providing the nation its Constitution, did not receive the respect he deserved from previous administrations.

Point of View

The emphasis on the teachings of saints by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reflects a growing recognition of spirituality's role in governance. The initiatives and references to historical figures illustrate a commitment to social harmony and progress, but it also raises questions about how effectively these ideals translate into policy and action.
