This year's observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is especially significant as it coincides with the 150th birth anniversary of the 'Iron Man of India.'
Preparations in Ekta Nagar are in full swing to commemorate this momentous occasion, featuring a range of festivities, including a cultural festival and a grand National Unity Day parade led by the security forces.
The parade, marking Sardar Patel's 150th birth anniversary, will take place in Ekta Nagar, home to the 182-meter-tall Statue of Unity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to join the celebrations on Ekta Diwas.
A standout feature of the event will be the National Unity Parade, inspired by the Republic Day parade, showcasing contingents from various parts of the country.
Security forces including BSF, CRPF, and CISF will participate, alongside police contingents from different states, demonstrating their valor in the Unity Parade.
Gandhinagar DGP Vikas Sahay informed the media, "This year, a total of 16 marching contingents from around the nation will take part in the parade, five of which will be from Central Armed Police Forces such as BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB."
Additional highlights will include an air show by the Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran team and floats from several states. An estimated 12,000 spectators are expected to attend the Unity Parade.
