Hyderabad, Sep 17 (NationPress) The government of Telangana has appointed IAS officer Sarfaraz Ahmad as the new Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, succeeding N.V.S. Reddy, who has served in this role since its establishment.
Sarfaraz Ahmad, previously the Metropolitan Commissioner of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), has been entrusted with the additional responsibilities of MD at Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited.
A member of the IAS batch of 2009, Ahmad takes on this significant role as the government plans to expand the Hyderabad Metro network.
Meanwhile, N.V.S. Reddy, a retired official from the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), has been designated as an advisor to the state government for urban transportation for a two-year term.
The Chief Secretary, K. Ramakrishna Rao, issued separate orders for Reddy's advisory appointment and for the transfer of various IAS officers.
