Guwahati, Oct 31 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has fiercely criticized Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi, labeling him a “Pakistani agent” and claiming that he was “implanted by foreign powers” in India.
While speaking to the media in Guwahati, CM Sarma stated: “Gaurav Gogoi has not spoken out against the individual who performed the national anthem of Bangladesh inside the Congress party office. He is indeed a Pakistani agent. I challenge the president of Assam Congress to initiate a defamation suit against me if he dares to do so.”
The Chief Minister went on to assert that he has significant evidence regarding Gaurav Gogoi's supposed associations and insisted that, when revealed, his findings would demonstrate that the Congress MP was indeed “implanted by foreign powers”.
CM Sarma remarked, “I possess conclusive evidence regarding this issue.”
“If there were no elections looming in the state, I would have taken stricter action. However, if I proceed now, people might claim it is politically motivated. The scale of information I hold suggests that Gaurav Gogoi would not be at large in the state,” the Chief Minister claimed.
Referring to a prior incident, CM Sarma noted that while he had not disclosed all documentation on September 10, he intends to make them public at the right moment.
Amplifying his accusations, the Chief Minister reiterated: “He is a genuine Pakistani agent, and I assert this as the Chief Minister. If I hold a press conference now, individuals may argue that the investigation into Zubeen Garg’s death is being overshadowed by this issue. First, let us ensure justice for Zubeen Garg, after which I will address Gaurav Gogoi’s connections to Pakistan.”
In the meantime, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) examining the alleged Pakistan connection of Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi submitted its comprehensive report to Chief Minister Sarma on September 10, marking a significant development in this high-profile inquiry.
According to government sources, the report consolidates findings from weeks of digital forensic investigations, intelligence collaboration, and analysis of financial and communication records apparently related to the case.
While the report's details remain undisclosed, officials have hinted that it contains both technical evidence and witness testimonials gathered throughout the investigation.
