New Delhi, March 30 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday paid tribute to Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), on his birth anniversary according to the Hindu calendar.
Born on April 1, 1889, in a Marathi Deshastha Brahmin family in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Hedgewar was instrumental in shaping India's nationalist movement.
He initially pursued a career in medicine during the challenging era of pre-independent India before founding the RSS in 1925. His vision was to unite the Hindu community for a cultural and spiritual renaissance, ultimately striving for the complete independence and unity of the nation.
