Gandhinagar, Feb 8 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, remarked that a cultural event dedicated to honoring the bravery and distinguished service awardees of the Indian Army was the highlight of the Southern Command Investiture Ceremony 2026 held in Gandhinagar.

Known as 'Shaurya Sandhya', this program was part of the investiture ceremony that took place on Saturday, uniting serving military members, veterans, and civilian dignitaries to celebrate acts of valor and commitment.

Among the attendees were Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, and Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Air Command, alongside other senior military officials.

The venue for this event was the amphitheater of the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre, where a series of performances were showcased, reflecting India's rich military heritage and cultural traditions.

The performances intricately wove together aspects of history, culture, and martial arts, culminating in a spectacular drone display.

"The event was a memorable occasion crafted as a token of profound respect and appreciation for gallantry and distinguished service awardees," CM Patel stated.

He further noted that the program artfully fused martial pride with cultural representation, thematically rooted in the vision of Viksit Bharat, while expressing gratitude to armed forces personnel for their dedicated service.

Senior military representatives highlighted that the investiture ceremony, along with the cultural program, forms an essential part of the tradition of recognizing valor and commitment within the armed forces.
