Nagpur, Dec 14 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, along with Shiv Sena ministers and legislators, paid a visit on Sunday to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters located at Reshimbagh and the esteemed Dikshabhumi in Nagpur, honoring two crucial pillars of the state’s socio-political landscape.
At the RSS headquarters in Reshimbagh, DCM Shinde offered his respects at the Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir, commending the organization for its century-long role in nation-building.
In a conversation with the media following his visit, DCM Shinde remarked, “Every activist feels a profound sense of national love and patriotism upon entering Reshimbagh. It is here that activists are motivated to commit themselves to social service and national service. The organizational strength of the RSS is impressive, with its branches extending not just throughout the nation but also globally.”
He further noted that the leadership of Dr. Mohan Bhagwat continually inspires the activists, providing them the strength needed for both social and national endeavors.
Shinde emphasized that Nagpur stands not only as Maharashtra's sub-capital but is also the birthplace of the RSS, which was established a century ago by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.
“Every volunteer who arrives here transcends caste, language, and regional barriers to serve the nation, guided by the principles of patriotism. It is a historical reality to have an organization that has selflessly dedicated itself for a century without seeking recognition or reward,” he added.
He mentioned that, similar to the Shiv Sena, RSS workers are always willing to help during disasters and crises, highlighting that community orientation, national love, and patriotism remain the core values of the Sangh’s initiatives.
Following his homage at Dikshabhumi to the revered memory of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Shinde characterized the site as a potent symbol of equality, self-respect, and social transformation. “Anyone who bows here leaves with renewed energy, inspired by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's thoughts and the spirit of struggle,” he noted.
Shinde reflected on the historical importance of the location, where Dr. Ambedkar adopted Buddhism on October 14, 1956, along with his followers, transforming Dikshabhumi into a bastion of social change and equality.
He highlighted Dr. Ambedkar's crucial role in drafting one of the world's finest constitutions, which forms the basis of governance for both the nation and the state. He stressed that the Constitution has integrated the common citizen into the mainstream.
“Shiksha, Sanghatit Vha, and Sangharsh Kara” (Educate, Agitate, and Organise) remains Baba Saheb's fundamental mantra that continues to guide society. Numerous instances across the country illustrate how the Constitution has empowered ordinary individuals to attain significant positions,” DCM Shinde mentioned.
He also pointed out that since 2015, Constitution Day has been celebrated nationwide to honor Babasaheb's contributions, acknowledging the influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this decision.
Discussing regional advancements, DCM Shinde stated that a multitude of development projects and schemes have been executed for Vidarbha over the past three and a half years, emphasizing that comprehensive development of Maharashtra is the primary focus of the current assembly session.
