New Delhi, Sep 28 (NationPress) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena president Eknath Shinde stated on Sunday that the preparations for the forthcoming municipal elections, particularly the significant Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls, have been escalated with branch leaders playing a crucial role.
While addressing a gathering of all branch heads and party officials in Mumbai, Shinde emphasized that the grassroots leadership is the foundation of the party and will be instrumental in achieving success.
“The announcement regarding the municipal elections is anticipated shortly. In light of this, I organized a meeting with branch heads today. They represent the party’s core strength and are the ones who engage with the public’s everyday challenges in their areas. Currently, all our branch heads are actively involved, and as soon as the elections are announced, they will mobilize with complete readiness,” Shinde remarked.
He further asserted that the Shiv Sena possesses a rich history of electoral struggle across various levels, from Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha to municipal corporations, and that the members are well-trained in grassroots mobilization.
“The conviction among our branch heads is unmistakable—that the Shiv Sena flag must wave high over the municipal corporations, especially the BMC, and the next mayor will undoubtedly be from the Mahayuti (grand alliance),” Shinde proclaimed.
The meeting also aimed at pinpointing and tackling local issues faced by residents daily, reinforcing the notion that effective grassroots problem-solving is the party’s hallmark. According to Shinde, this direct link between citizens and branch heads will be crucial in gaining public trust during the elections.
The upcoming BMC election is anticipated to be a significant test for Shinde’s faction of the Shiv Sena, which currently leads the state government in partnership with the BJP and other MahaYuti allies, and will strive to maintain its grip over Mumbai’s civic administration.
