Pune, Feb 10 (NationPress) The son of former Maharashtra Health minister and Shiv Sena deputy leader Tanaji Sawant, Rishiraj Sawant, has safely returned to Pune airport after a period of being unaccounted for.

The Pune joint commissioner, Ranjan Kumar Sharma, who was present with Tanaji Sawant, informed reporters that Rishiraj, who intended to fly to Bangkok on a private aircraft, made a stop in Chennai before heading back to Pune.

The police in Pune initiated a missing persons case after receiving a call in the afternoon. A police team promptly arrived at the airport to commence an investigation. Sharma noted that Rishiraj Sawant would be questioned regarding his journey from Pune to Chennai and then to Bangkok.

According to the joint commissioner, a call was made to the control room at 4 pm on Monday, indicating that Rishiraj had been taken by an unidentified individual.

“Upon further investigation, it was discovered that he had departed for Bangkok in a private aircraft without informing his family. There were three occupants on the flight, including Rishiraj,” he stated.

Sharma added, “Initially, we had a kidnapping case registered; however, now that Rishiraj has returned to Pune, we will gather comprehensive details about the situation from him. Since a case exists, they will be interrogated.”

Tanaji Sawant expressed his concerns: “Rishiraj left without notifying anyone. The driver informed me he had gone to the airport. We have no conflicts; I wonder how he could leave without informing anyone. I am puzzled by this. The driver mentioned it to me.”

He also mentioned their worries, as Rishiraj did not communicate his plans for the Bangkok trip.

The joint commissioner confirmed that Rishiraj Sawant and his two companions returned safely to Pune.

“Rishiraj had arranged for a private flight to Bangkok. Following his departure, the aircraft was tracked. The investigation aims to uncover the reasons for Rishiraj’s trip to Bangkok and why he did not inform his family. This information will emerge through the investigation,” he elaborated.

Sharma concluded by stating that the police had coordinated with various agencies to trace Rishiraj successfully.
