Mumbai, Jan 27 (NationPress) Shiv Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande has praised the Uttarakhand government for adopting the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), calling it a forward-thinking initiative to eradicate injustice and foster equality.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Kayande remarked, “This represents a crucial achievement for Uttarakhand. If injustices exist within our nation, such legislation can aid in rectifying them. I strongly advocate for the UCC’s implementation in Maharashtra as well.”
Reaffirming Shiv Sena's enduring support for the UCC, she continued, “As part of the NDA, we have consistently endorsed the concept of a Uniform Civil Code and will persist in our support. The growing activities of Bangladeshi immigrants in India necessitate appropriate regulation of their legal and social standing.”
In reaction to a controversial statement made by Congress leader Husain Dalwai, who compared the Maha Kumbh to Haj, Kayande expressed strong discontent. “I utterly reject Husain Dalwai’s remarks. Such comments can incite societal tensions, and he must bear full accountability for any unrest that may result. An apology to the public is warranted,” Kayande stated in her conversation with IANS.
She further criticized Dalwai, stating, “Husain Dalwai’s mental state seems to have deteriorated. His remarks exhibit a lack of awareness and sensitivity. The Maha Kumbh is of profound historical and spiritual importance to millions of Indians, and equating it to Haj is utterly foolish.”
Addressing the incident involving the attack on Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, Kayande commented on the surrounding political and public discourse.
“Following Saif Ali Khan’s recovery, a considerable amount of political maneuvering is taking place. Nevertheless, the real facts surrounding the incident will emerge from the police investigation. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has already addressed the matter. Still, ongoing inquiries are understandable given the context,” she stated.
Kayande called for clarity, asserting, “The hospital should publish the medical report to clear the air regarding public concerns.”
Responding to speculation that the event was a publicity stunt, she said, “While some actors have employed such tactics prior to their film launches, risking one’s life in this fashion would be an act of absolute folly.”
Kayande criticized Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for his request to confer the Bharat Ratna upon Savarkar, stating, “Sanjay Raut is a three-time MP, yet he has neither contacted the Prime Minister nor the President regarding this issue nor raised it in Parliament. If he genuinely supports this cause, he should take definitive actions and formally present it,” she noted.
Kayande also commented on the ongoing strife between Congress and AAP leaders during the Delhi elections. She observed, “These two parties are openly attacking each other’s leadership. Their failure to collaborate clearly demonstrates that the INDIA bloc initiative has faltered. When they are at odds with one another, what conclusion should the public draw?”
