Patna, May 27 (NationPress) Congress National Spokesperson Supriya Shrinate has fiercely criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), underscoring the party's dedication to women's welfare and social justice through clearly defined initiatives across states governed by Congress.
Speaking to the media in Patna, Shrinate asserted, "Currently, the BJP lacks both a prominent face and a significant issue in Bihar. Their coalition is deteriorating from within. Even Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is being mocked by his own allies. What unfolds in the NDA camp is nothing short of political strife."
She emphasized the stark differences between Congress' governance promises and what she termed the "hollow assurances" of other parties.
She pointed out various Congress-led welfare programs focused on empowering women.
"In Delhi, under former CM Sheila Dikshit's 'Laadli Yojana', girls received financial assistance of up to Rs 1 lakh by the time they completed Class 12. In Karnataka, the 'Gruha Lakshmi' and ‘Gruha Jyothi' schemes are aiding 1.5 crore women with monthly transfers of Rs 2,000 and providing free electricity. In Himachal Pradesh, women benefit from Rs 1,500 monthly under the 'Pyaari Behna Sukh Samman Yojana'. In Telangana, Congress pledges include free bus travel, subsidized LPG at Rs 500, and 200 units of free electricity for women. The coalition government in Jharkhand, supported by Congress, grants Rs 2,500 as a financial right to women," Shrinate detailed.
"These initiatives are not mere handouts—they are instruments of empowerment," she declared, asserting that Congress' policies aim to alleviate the financial pressures on women and uphold their dignity.
Referencing data from the Bihar caste survey, Shrinate depicted a dire economic situation in the state.
"Over 94.5 lakh families—more than 5 crore people—live on less than Rs 6,000 per month, eking out a living on merely Rs 40 daily. Additionally, 82 lakh families survive on under Rs 10,000 monthly," she reported.
"These statistics reflect the heavy economic strain on women in Bihar. They are concerned about their children's employment prospects and inflation simultaneously. We must confront both issues," Shrinate concluded.
The Congress leader urged the people of Bihar to evaluate governance models and choose those offering tangible results rather than mere rhetoric.
"We don’t just make promises—we deliver. That’s the Congress commitment," she stated.
