Chennai, Nov 1 (NationPress) The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has issued a forecast indicating predominantly dry weather over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal for the upcoming two days, although light rainfall is anticipated at one or two locations within the state.

The weather bulletin reveals that variations in the intensity of easterly winds are impacting the climatic conditions across the southern peninsula.

"Due to fluctuations in wind speed and direction, Tamil Nadu and its neighboring Union Territories are expected to maintain predominantly dry conditions. Nevertheless, isolated light showers may occur in one or two areas," the Met Centre remarked.

Simultaneously, the Andaman Sea is experiencing heightened wind activity.

Experts have forecasted gusty winds blowing at speeds between 35 to 45 km/h, with occasional gusts reaching up to 55 km/h.

"Fishermen are strongly advised against venturing into the sea due to the potential for rough weather conditions," the forecast cautioned.

Similar wind patterns are anticipated along the coasts of Gujarat and North Konkan, as well as adjoining areas of the east-central and northeast Arabian Sea, where squally winds of 35–45 km/h may be present. The sea conditions are expected to be turbulent in these regions.

In Chennai, the sky is projected to remain partly cloudy throughout the day. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may settle near 26 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels could remain moderate to high, characteristic of this season, according to meteorologists.

Despite the moisture present in the lower atmosphere, there are no signs of widespread or heavy rainfall across Tamil Nadu in the upcoming week. This subdued rainfall pattern follows the recent weakening of the low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal.

The weather office has also urged fishermen operating along the Andaman coast, North Konkan coast, and the central and northeastern regions of the Arabian Sea to remain ashore until further notice, as sea conditions may worsen due to strong gusts.

With the northeast monsoon yet to fully establish its strength, the RMC continues to monitor developments in the Bay of Bengal closely for any signs of new low-pressure systems that could lead to widespread rainfall later in November.
