Bengaluru, July 26 (NationPress) In the midst of escalating tensions between special officers working under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, a complaint has emerged that alleges an aide of the Chief Minister attempted to attack a member of Shivakumar's team with his boots. The document has rapidly gained traction on social media.
The complaint, dated July 22, was lodged by H. Anjaneya, who serves as the Special Officer to the Deputy Chief Minister and is also the Deputy Coordinator at the Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi. Anjaneya accuses C. Mohan Kumar, an Assistant Resident Commissioner (Grade-2) and special officer to Siddaramaiah, of threatening him in front of colleagues by claiming he would physically assault him using his boots.
According to Anjaneya's complaint, he stated, "Mohan Kumar has consistently obstructed my duties since my appointment. He explicitly stated that he would remove his boots and physically harm me in his office. He even made an assault attempt outside his office, witnessed by staff member Pramila and others. As a Group B officer currently serving as the Special Officer to the Dy CM, if I encounter any harm or an accident, Mohan Kumar should be held accountable."
He further claimed, "An examination of his service history would reveal that he previously assaulted M.M. Joshi. His behavior reflects an arrogance stemming from his position as the Special Officer to the CM, as he tries to dictate how the administration should operate. Despite my seniority, he has hindered my ability to work effectively even in my capacity as an in-charge accountant."
Anjaneya has called for a departmental investigation into Mohan Kumar, citing issues like obstruction of duty, denial of promotions, use of disrespectful language, and attempts at assault.
This confrontation between the special officers of Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar at Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi has ignited renewed discussions about the discord within the Congress party's leadership. The Karnataka BJP remarked that this ongoing conflict has surpassed all acceptable boundaries.
Karnataka's Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, commented on the situation, stating that Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have lost control of the political landscape in Karnataka.
"The public feud between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar has escalated from behind-the-scenes maneuvering to overt threats at Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi," he noted.
Ashoka further emphasized, "If this is the current state of governance, how can the public trust the Congress-led administration in Karnataka? This power struggle is not only embarrassing but poses significant risks."
"The factions of Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar are engaged in an ongoing battle, while the so-called high command remains powerless in Delhi, leaving Karnataka without effective leadership," Ashoka concluded.
"Karnataka deserves better than this chaotic situation and lack of order," he asserted.
