Significant Changes in UP Police Structure; Eight SPs Reassigned

Lucknow, Jan 8 (NationPress) In a pivotal action, the Yogi Adityanath administration in Uttar Pradesh has declared a substantial shake-up in the state's police department, leading to the transfer of 12 IPS officers, which includes eight Superintendents of Police (SPs), across various important districts.

The transfers were implemented following the directives of the government and carried out by the DGP headquarters.

Among the officials affected by this reshuffle are the SPs from eight districts: Sultanpur, Amroha, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mainpuri, Kannauj, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, and Basti.

2012 batch IPS officer Somen Verma, who previously served as the SP of Sultanpur, is now designated as the SP of Mirzapur.

2013 batch IPS officer Kunwar Anupam Singh, former SP of Amroha, has been reassigned to the role of SP of Sultanpur.

2012 batch IPS officer Sankalp Sharma, who was the Deputy Commissioner of Police at Lucknow Police Commissionerate, has now been appointed as the new SP of Lakhimpur Kheri.

Other notable transfers include:

2013 batch IPS officer Ganesh Saha, previously stationed in Lakhimpur, has now taken on the role of SP of Mainpuri.

2014 batch IPS officer Abhinandan, who was the SP of Mirzapur, has been given the responsibility for Basti.

Vinod Kumar, a 2014 batch IPS officer (SPS), who served as the SP of Mainpuri, will now assume the position of new SP of Kannauj.

2014 batch IPS officer Meenakshi Katyayan, the SP of Bhadohi, has been appointed to the SP Intelligence role in Kanpur.

Basant Lal, a 2015 batch IPS officer (SPS) from Kanpur, has been transferred to the Lucknow Anti-Corruption Organisation (ACO) Headquarters.

Additionally, several district officers have also received new assignments:

Gopal Krishna Chaudhary, a 2016 batch IPS officer and the current SP of Basti, has been assigned to the Lucknow Commissionerate.

2016 batch IPS officer Amit Kumar Anand, formerly the SP of Kannauj, has been reassigned to Amroha.

2018 batch IPS officer Abhimanyu Manglik, who served as the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Saharanpur City, has been promoted to the position of SP in Bhadohi.

2021-batch IPS officer Vyom Bindal, the ASP of Muzaffarnagar, has been appointed as the in-charge SP City of Saharanpur.

In a separate development, 1992 batch IPS officer Deepesh Juneja, currently the Director General (DG) of Prosecution, has been given additional responsibilities for the Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department (CBCID).

The government also rescinded the transfer order of 1999 batch IPS officer Sanjeev Gupta, the Home Secretary, along with the transfer of 1996 batch IPS officer N. Ravinder, DGP's GSO, to ADG ACO.

2003 batch IPS officer Nachiketa Jha, the IG Headquarters, has been moved to IG Establishment, and 2006 batch IPS officer Shalabh Mathur, IG Establishment, will now oversee IG Personnel.

These extensive changes in the Police department reflect the government's efforts to strengthen law enforcement and administration in anticipation of upcoming challenges.
