New Delhi, June 16 (NationPress) In reaction to pro-Khalistan demonstrations in Canada, where protestors, including minors, voiced their disapproval of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in the G7 Summit, numerous esteemed Sikh leaders from India have vehemently criticized these actions, deeming them indicative of a Taliban mindset.
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa expressed significant concern, stating, "Some individuals have started utilizing even children for their political motives. These are merely a few individuals who have attempted every tactic available and are now trying to sway the minds of young children.
"As a result, Sikhs globally are facing defamation. Sikhs around the world are perceived differently. This conduct mirrors the mindset of the Taliban. Sikhs have consistently adhered to the path laid out by the Gurus, and this act is entirely contrary to their teachings."
The images of children engaging in such protests sparked widespread outrage.
Maninderjeet Singh Bitta, President of the All India Anti-Terrorist Front, cautioned against such inflammatory actions.
"To those throwing stones at the Prime Minister’s image and burning his effigy, those times are over. The fear you once sought to instill is gone. He went directly to the location from where you used to incite hate. Do whatever you wish; he stands before you. This stone-pelting and disrespecting the national flag have lost their impact now," he remarked.
R.P. Singh, BJP National Spokesperson, underscored the innocence of the children involved in the protest, asserting, "I doubt the children are being brainwashed. Those children likely don’t even know whose picture they are protesting against. Perhaps they also don’t recognize what PM Modi has accomplished for this country, for Punjab, and for the Sikhs."
Echoing similar sentiments, Sardar Trilochan Singh, former Secretary of Gurdwara Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh, stated, "These are children from another country being misguided, and they are stirring sentiments in India. Their minds have been manipulated, which is unacceptable from any viewpoint. The Canadian government must take this matter seriously. It is unjust to tarnish Prime Minister Modi’s reputation in this way, a leader who is diligently working for Sikhs, the nation, and the world..."
Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Secretary Harbans Singh also expressed his disapproval.
"It was incredibly shocking to witness and hear. We do not endorse what occurred. Today, PM Modi is exemplifying leadership through his actions," he concluded.
