Alongside Tanmay, his elder brothers Padmanav (35), Prashant (40), and their driver Samir Kumar Swain (25) were also taken into custody for allegedly providing refuge to Tanmay and aiding his escape.

On March 15, a minor dispute escalated between the victim Ayushman Pati and Tanmay, leading to violence when Ayushman reportedly brandished a sharp weapon intending to attack Tanmay.

In a turn of events, Tanmay seized the weapon and fatally stabbed Ayushman near the Mancheswar Industrial Estate. DCP Meena confirmed that Tanmay was captured in the Pipili Police station area of Puri district.
