Mumbai, July 16 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Minister of State for Home (Rural), Pankaj Bhoyar, announced on Wednesday that CCTV cameras are being set up at critical locations throughout the state by various departments.
According to him, the Home and Disaster Management Departments rely heavily on these surveillance systems to formulate their future strategies.
In response to a query from council member Satej Patil, Minister Bhoyar revealed that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has mandated the Home Department to establish an SOP to regulate the distribution of CCTV footage and prevent unauthorized leaks.
He noted that a formal policy will be drafted before the upcoming session to ensure that CCTV footage from private sectors, particularly, remains confidential.
Additionally, Bhoyar mentioned that Chief Minister Fadnavis has instructed that funds be allocated through the District Planning Committee to facilitate the maintenance and repair of CCTV cameras installed in government facilities.
In other news, Chief Minister Fadnavis addressed the prevalent parking issues across all Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) zones, stating that currently available MIDC spaces will be utilized.
As a future consideration, the establishment of multi-storey parking areas will be evaluated. This response came after council member Vikrant Patil raised concerns about the parking situation in Taloja MIDC.
Minister Bhoyar added that Taloja is a significant MIDC with a high influx of vehicles. Presently, there are 140 parking spots available, and Chief Minister Fadnavis has requested MIDC to provide additional parking space.
He also mentioned that due to a lack of parking facilities for a washing center located here, they will be informed about the available parking options.
