This year’s Foundation Day celebrations will uniquely merge the Tiger Festival and Guava Festival, showcasing the region’s rich wildlife and its celebrated guava.
Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena expressed that it is a significant milestone for both Sawai Madhopur and the state, as this festival marks a first in India.
Dr Meena highlighted that the Guava Festival is not just a ceremonial occasion, but a substantial initiative to offer farmers a national platform to demonstrate their efforts and underscore the district’s agricultural prowess.
Currently, guava farming in Sawai Madhopur covers over 15,000 hectares, yielding approximately 4 lakh metric tonnes annually, contributing to a thriving agricultural economy worth around Rs 6-7 billion each year.

Visitors can look forward to sessions and demonstrations on contemporary farming techniques, agricultural mechanization, drone technology, advanced horticulture, processing, and value addition.
Farmers will gain insights into the latest agricultural innovations. A highlight of the festival will be an exhibition of diverse guava products, such as juice, jelly, squash, pulp, barfi, chutney, and pickles.
Additionally, an exhibition will display various guava types, alongside fruit and flower competitions, and live demonstrations of farming equipment.
Over 20 nurseries from various states will participate, while approximately 200 stalls will exhibit organic and natural farming practices, horticultural techniques, animal husbandry, and dairy activities, making this festival a well-rounded agricultural showcase.
