Hyderabad, Oct 22 (NationPress) To accommodate the surge of travelers, the South Central Railway (SCR) has announced the operation of special trains between Secunderabad and Hazrat Nizamuddin from October 28 to November 4. This was revealed on Wednesday.
Train number 07081 will depart from Secunderabad to Hazrat Nizamuddin on October 28 and November 2, while train number 07082 will make the return journey on October 30 and November 4.
These special services will stop at various stations including Medchal, Kamareddi, Nizamuddin, Basar, Mudkhed, Nanded, Purna, Basmat, Hingoli, Washim, Akola, Malkapur, Khandwa, Itarsi, Narmadapuram, Rani Kamalapati, Bhopal, Bina, Jhansi, Gwalior, Dhaulpur, Agra Cantt, and Mathura.
The trains will feature a variety of classes including 1AC, 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class Coaches.
Additionally, the SCR reported that it managed the heavy passenger traffic effectively from September 21 to October 20.
According to SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, the zone operated a total of 1,010 regular and festival special trains during the past month, marking a 47 percent increase compared to last year when only 684 special trains were in operation.
During this period, approximately 4.80 crore passengers utilized SCR services (both inward and outward) across regular express, passenger, and special trains.
To accommodate waitlisted travelers, various regular trains were supplemented with 237 additional coaches. Additional stops were introduced at stations such as Lingampalli, Hi-tech City, Charlapalli, and Malkajgiri to alleviate congestion at key terminals in Hyderabad.
The SCR also implemented crowd management and facilitation measures at major stations, establishing 26 holding areas for regulated access onto platforms across all six divisions, including Secunderabad, Charlapalli, Hyderabad, Lingampalli, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Raichur, Guntakal, Guntur, Nalgonda, Kacheguda, Nizamabad, Nanded, Aurangabad, Akola, and Purna.
