He announced that exceptional Jallikattu tamers, those who successfully manage the most bulls, will receive preferential treatment for government employment in the livestock and associated sectors. Additionally, a cutting-edge veterinary treatment and training facility for Jallikattu bulls is set to be established at Alanganallur, with an investment of Rs 2 crore.
These announcements were made as CM Stalin graced the prestigious Jallikattu event at Alanganallur, a highlight of the Pongal festival celebrations.
Arriving in Madurai from Chennai, he was welcomed by Minister Murthy and District Collector Praveen Kumar before heading to the specially designated festival stage near the Vadivasal, where he attentively observed the competition.
The Jallikattu season kicked off on Pongal day, January 15, with the inaugural event at Avaniyapuram, followed by a significant contest at Palamedu on Friday.
