New Delhi, June 22 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, has underscored the significance of treating physical health with the same commitment as our daily tasks.
During her participation in the International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations held at Maharaja Agrasen Bhawan in Ashok Vihar on Sunday, she spoke passionately about the necessity of incorporating yoga and fitness into our everyday lives.
Addressing the attendees, CM Gupta stated that our physical well-being should be regarded with equal seriousness as any other responsibility in life. “We need to prioritize our health just as we do with our daily routines. Regardless of circumstances, dedicating at least 30 to 45 minutes each day to nurture the body bestowed upon us by God is essential,” she expressed.
“It is our duty to maintain our fitness. The body we have is a gift from God, and we are responsible for keeping it healthy. We should not allow it to become unwell. With two hands and two legs, our bodies are complete. Consider those who are differently-abled yet live with dignity. What justification do we have for neglecting our health?” she added.
Encouraging the people of Delhi to integrate yoga into their daily routines, she expressed her desire for a healthier city. “I envision a Delhi where everyone adopts yoga as an integral part of their lives,” she stated, congratulating the organizers for executing a successful event.
CM Gupta also recognized the contributions of local community leaders and organizations in advancing health, spirituality, and social welfare.
“Each individual present here is not merely a person but an institution in their own right, actively enhancing societal betterment. From religious initiatives to social causes, many of you have transformed service into a mission,” she remarked.
She praised the Aggarwal community for their continuous efforts to enrich the social fabric of the region. She mentioned local infrastructure improvements, including planting thousands of trees along major thoroughfares, exemplifying the synergy between governance and community efforts.
“Through your actions, meaningful contributions are being made for our nation and society. Let us all commit a part of our lives to a greater mission,” she concluded.
This event was not just a celebration of yoga but also of community unity, civic duty, and collective health awareness.
