Hassan (Karnataka), March 8 (NationPress) JD (S) MLC and grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Suraj Revanna, announced on Saturday that his brother, Prajwal Revanna, a former JD (S) MP, is expected to be released from jail within a month.

Additionally, he asserted that the Congress administration in Karnataka is likely to crumble within four months.

Suraj made these remarks while addressing attendees at a cricket tournament held in Chakenahallikatte village, located near Holenarasipur in the Hassan district.

He stated, "Prajwal Revanna will be released from incarceration in just a month. There is no need for concern. Let us all join in welcoming him back. Life continues, and I understand the nuances of politics."

"I will back all tournaments and activities organized by you. The youth must unite and rally behind a single leader. In four months, we will see a shift in government. What will happen to those who have allied themselves with them? This is a question deserving of a technical answer," he emphasized.

"If a government transition occurs within the next four to five months, will they then come to us and adopt our slogans? They will certainly arrive and echo our slogans; this has always been the case. They approach us through intermediaries and seek our support," he stated.

"Ultimately, the village and its residents must benefit. I have been responsive to your needs, and I will continue to do so in the future," Suraj reiterated.

"Those who contribute nothing will merely pose and wave from the sidelines. We will spend time with you daily and participate in all events, including marriages and other celebrations. Previously, Revanna sahib (his father H.D. Revanna) facilitated the construction of roads and community halls. This was the previous trend.

The current trend in every village is centered around temple renovations and the construction of new temples. The youth must discern who is truly beneficial and who should be kept at a distance. Have you forgotten us, those who have made significant contributions to the community?" Suraj questioned.

Prajwal Revanna is currently held at Bengaluru Central Prison in Parappana Agrahara.

He was detained at Bengaluru International Airport in the early hours of May 30, 2024, while returning from Germany, after his grandfather H.D. Deve Gowda and uncle H.D. Kumaraswamy, who is also the Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, publicly urged him to return and face the authorities.

His father, JD-S legislator H.D Revanna, is currently imprisoned. Revanna and Prajwal's mother, Bhavani Revanna, are out on bail related to a kidnapping and rape case linked to a sex video scandal. His younger brother, JD (S) MLC Suraj Revanna, was jailed for allegedly sexually assaulting male party workers but is also out on bail.

The prosecution has filed charges against Prajwal Revanna under various sections of the IPC, including 354 (A) (sexual harassment), 354 (B) (assault with intent to disrobe), and others.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the sexual assault video case involving Prajwal Revanna has submitted a comprehensive 1,691-page charge sheet to the Special Court for MLAs/MPs.

This charge sheet alleges that the victim was assaulted at gunpoint, with videos captured during the incident, and the victim was repeatedly threatened with public exposure of the footage.
