Bengaluru, Oct 3 (NationPress) On Friday, former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda hinted that the identity of the person linked to the notorious sex-scandal case involving Prajwal Revanna is widely recognized, without specifically naming Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
“For three months, the media was stationed outside my residence from 6 am until 10 pm. Who instigated all this? You witnessed those days firsthand. You are well aware of the influence behind it,” Deve Gowda stated, subtly directing his comments towards Shivakumar.
Former JD-S MP Prajwal Revanna, who is also the grandson of Deve Gowda, became embroiled in a scandal involving a sex CD and a rape case that sent shockwaves through Karnataka.
Addressing a press conference at J.P. Bhavan, Deve Gowda further criticized Shivakumar, without explicitly naming him, in response to allegations that the Deve Gowda-Kumaraswamy family aims to imprison him.
He referred to the period before Prajwal Revanna's arrest, during which he had gone missing after the case surfaced, only returning to India following a personal plea from Deve Gowda and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.
The court has sentenced Prajwal Revanna to life imprisonment in one of the charges against him. In court, Prajwal Revanna contended that the accusations were part of a conspiracy to obstruct his political advancement.
“The JD-S is a modest political party. We will strive beyond our capabilities to uphold our party's integrity. I will refrain from commenting on Shivakumar. Since he ran against me in elections two decades ago, I have chosen not to engage with him, and I will maintain that stance,” Deve Gowda asserted.
On the topic of the Bidadi township project, the former Prime Minister expressed his thorough understanding of all aspects, including the farmers' resistance to land acquisition.
“The Congress party is currently in power. The public must deliver their judgment at the polls. Until then, we must be patient,” he concluded.
