Suryakiran Aerobatic Team Enchants the Skies of Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 8 (NationPress) The stunning performance of the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team captivated audiences over the scenic Hussain Sagar lake on Sunday, coinciding with the celebration of one year of Telangana's Congress administration.
The team, under the leadership of Group Captain Ajay Dasrathi, executed impressive aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, crosses, and inverted flying, mesmerizing the onlookers.
Attendees included Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, his Cabinet members, prominent Congress leaders, and high-ranking officials who gathered at Hussain Sagar to witness the exhilarating aerial performance.
Flying as close as just 5 meters apart, the nine Hawk Mk 132 aircraft kept the vast crowd riveted to the skies.
The team showcased various formations and filled the sky with colored smoke resembling the national flag—saffron, white, and green—during their aerial displays.
Large crowds amassed along the lake's banks to enjoy the remarkable maneuvers performed by the team, which includes its leader Ajay Dasrathi, deputy leader Group Captain Sidhesh Kartik, and Squadron Leaders Jasdeep Singh, Himkhush Chandel, Ankit Vashisth, Vishnu, Diwakar Sharma, Gaurav Patel, and Wing Commanders Rajesh Kajla, Arjun Patel, Kuldeep Hooda, and Allen George.
The technical team, which comprised Wing Commander Abhimanyu Tyagi, Squadron Leader Sandeep Dhayal, and Flight Lieutenant Manil Sharma, played a crucial role in the event.
As per a defense announcement, this event was part of the Indian Air Force's Outreach Programme.
Founded in 1996, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) proudly holds the title of being the only nine-aircraft aerobatic team in Asia and ranks among the elite globally.
The extraordinary team has conducted over 700 displays across India and has represented the IAF's professionalism at international air shows in nations such as China, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, and the UAE.
All members embrace the team's motto, 'Sadaiva Sarvottam', meaning 'Always the Best!' This team exemplifies a commitment to excellence. The pilots engage in rigorous training to master intricate aerobatic maneuvers, with their proficiency and seamless coordination serving as the backbone of close formation flying.
The Suryakiran Team operates the Hawk Mk 132 advanced jet trainer, which is utilized for training newly commissioned Indian Air Force pilots. This aircraft is proudly manufactured in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), showcasing the nation's aviation prowess.
Recently, the Suryakiran Team's Hawk Mk 132 aircraft underwent significant indigenous upgrades, including the installation of smoke pods capable of generating colored smoke, a development achieved at the Indian Air Force's Base Repair Depot in Nashik.
