New Delhi, Sep 20 (NationPress) In celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, the Delhi government launched the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan’ (SNSPA) on Saturday at the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs located in Karkardooma Village and Babarpur, as confirmed by an official.
Delhi's Health Minister, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, emphasized, "The health of mothers, sisters, and daughters in Delhi is our government's top priority. Under the SNSPA, we offer all services completely free of charge."
He encouraged women throughout the city to take advantage of the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and Health Camps for their health screenings.
The campaign commenced on September 17 and is set to run until October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti). Dr. Singh noted that during this period, the Delhi Government is providing an extensive array of health services aimed at empowering women.
Services available at the camps include the issuance of PMJAY cards, Ayushman cards, and ABHA IDs, in addition to various digital health offerings.
Many women participated in Saturday's camp, taking advantage of complimentary medical check-ups, consultations with specialists, and prescribed medications at no cost.
This initiative offers a comprehensive health package for women and children under one roof. Pregnant women are receiving essential medications free of charge, as well as high-risk pregnancy tests, Mother and Child Protection (MCP) cards, and vaccines.
Moreover, recipe contests are being held to raise nutritional awareness, and citizens are encouraged to pledge for blood and eye donations.
Dr. Singh stated, "Women are the backbone of every family. When the women in Delhi are empowered and healthy, their families grow stronger, consequently strengthening our nation. This campaign aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a developed India capital."
Specialist doctors from GTB Hospital (Gynaecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Dermatology) and Hedgewar Hospital (Medicine and Pediatrics) are providing expert care at the camps.
In addition to women's health services, children are being vaccinated, and mothers are receiving education on nutrition and supplementation at the camps.
A dedicated counter has been established to provide information on healthy eating and dietary practices. Children also receive free weight monitoring and other anthropometric assessments.
For adolescent girls and the younger population, deworming tablets and iron supplements are being distributed without charge. The Delhi Government is also distributing free sanitary napkins under the Udaan programme. Additionally, “Nayee Pahal Kits” are being provided to married couples to promote family health awareness.
