New Delhi, March 5 (NationPress) Technology holds the promise to boost India's growth rate by 2-3 percent, stated NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam on Wednesday. In a bid to transform India into a technology-driven nation, NITI Aayog has introduced the NITI Frontier Tech Hub (NITI-FTH), which will function as a frontier tech action tank.

The initiative is designed to enhance economic and social development via advanced technological innovations.

It aims to foster emerging technologies that benefit both humanity and the environment, showcasing India's human-centric approach globally.

In an interview with IANS, Subrahmanyam emphasized the swift progress in disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and biological sciences.

“These technologies can be leveraged across numerous sectors, including education, employment, job searches, agriculture, manufacturing, and governance,” he noted.

Subrahmanyam added that their adoption will boost productivity, efficiency, and overall economic growth.

Currently, India ranks as the world's fifth-largest economy, and it is projected to ascend to the third position in the years to come.

In order to sustain this growth trajectory, Subrahmanyam emphasized the importance of India leading in technological advancements.

“The government is dedicated to developing human-centric technologies that enhance people’s lives, raise incomes, and simplify everyday tasks,” he remarked.

On a related note, Minister for Communications and Development of the North-East Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, mentioned that India's remarkable strides in technology and telecommunications are steering the nation towards a new era of digital leadership and economic progress.

While addressing the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the minister revealed that the ninth edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) is set to take place in Delhi from October 8 to 11, 2025.

“India is on the verge of leading in emerging technologies such as 6G, AI, and Quantum, and the IMC has been a crucial catalyst in this journey,” Scindia stated.
