Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 4 (NationPress) The health status of 19-year-old Sreekutty, who suffered severe injuries after being forcibly ejected from a moving train at Varkala by an intoxicated fellow passenger, remains grave, according to medical professionals at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.

Sreekutty endured significant head and spinal injuries following her fall from the Kerala Express on Sunday night.

She is presently receiving care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is reliant on ventilator support.

Upon the directive of State Health Minister Veena George, a comprehensive team of specialists, including neurosurgeons, is vigilantly overseeing her condition.

“She has experienced head trauma and brain contusions. Although she is receiving top-notch medical attention, her health remains critical,” stated Medical College Superintendent Dr. Jayachandran.

He emphasized that the hospital is committed to delivering the highest standard of care in light of concerns voiced by the victim’s family regarding the quality of treatment.
