Hyderabad, Nov 3 (NationPress) The Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, along with leaders from various political parties across the Telugu states, have extended their heartfelt congratulations to India’s women's cricket team for clinching the World Cup.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy commended the team’s outstanding performance in the final against South Africa, highlighting that they have etched a new chapter in the annals of international cricket history and have become a source of true inspiration for the nation.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his admiration on ‘X’, stating, “The Indian Women’s Cricket Team has made history by winning the World Cup! Our daughters have made the entire nation proud with their exceptional performance, unwavering determination, and indomitable spirit. Congratulations to our champions!”

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan hailed it as a historic achievement for Indian women’s cricket. “Congratulations to the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, led by Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, for making history by defeating South Africa to secure the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Each player showcased remarkable skill, determination, and teamwork, filling 140 crore Indians with pride,” stated the Jana Sena leader.

“Special recognition goes to Shafali Verma for her extraordinary innings and to Deepti Sharma for her all-round brilliance with both bat and ball. This glorious victory will encourage countless young girls across the country to dream big and pursue sports with passion and confidence,” he added.

Andhra Pradesh’s HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh also expressed his congratulations. “And India are WORLD CHAMPIONS! What a historic night for our women in blue. The grit, heart, and excellence displayed as we lifted the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup by defeating a formidable South Africa was remarkable! Special salute to Shefali Verma’s blistering 87 that set the tone and Deepti Sharma’s clutch all-round brilliance under pressure - true champions’ temperament! Sree Charani from Andhra Pradesh - remember her name; she will achieve great heights in the days to come. This triumph will inspire a generation. Jai Hind!” posted Lokesh.

Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also lauded the Indian team. “The Indian women’s cricket team has made history at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, winning the World Cup after a thrilling match. Their teamwork, confidence, and passion have made the entire nation proud. It's heartwarming to see a Kadapa girl, Sricharani, as part of the champion team. This glorious win will be remembered as a golden chapter in Indian cricket history and serve as an inspiration for every young Indian to dream big,” he wrote.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao said the women’s team made India proud. “What a fabulous victory! You made the country proud. Keep shining and continue to inspire girls,” posted KTR.

Telangana Jagruthi leader K. Kavitha remarked that India’s women in blue have brought home the golden honor. She praised both Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma for their all-round brilliance.

“Shafali’s grit and Deepti’s composure defined India’s triumph, with every player’s effort contributing to this historic World Cup win,” said Kavitha.
