Hyderabad, Oct 19 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has launched a fierce criticism against the BRS, alleging a secret alliance with the BJP regarding the Jubilee Hills by-election.
He accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of engaging in conspiracy politics within the state.
Speaking at the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra commemoration at the historic Charminar, the Chief Minister claimed that BRS and BJP are working together to manipulate votes in the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election.
Reddy further alleged that a clandestine agreement between BRS and BJP was formed for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, citing a 21 percent vote transfer to the BJP as evidence of the BRS's deceptive tactics.
“Currently, the BRS is employing the same political strategies in the Jubilee Hills by-election,” CM Revanth Reddy stated.
The Chief Minister also predicted that the upcoming Assembly elections would reflect similar collusive tactics between BRS and BJP. He urged citizens to unite against BRS's efforts to divide the vote in the Jubilee Hills by-election.
Calling on the youth to engage actively in politics, he stressed the importance of amending the Indian Constitution to allow individuals aged 21 and above to contest in Assembly elections.
He reminisced about former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's introduction of adult franchise at 18 years, which significantly strengthened the nation's democratic framework.
CM Revanth Reddy commemorated the Sadbhavana Yatra initiated by Rajiv Gandhi from Charminar to uphold national unity, stating, “Today, we are continuing Rajiv Gandhi's spirit through this event.”
He congratulated the organizers for honoring senior leader and former Union Minister Salman Khurshid with the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the Gandhi family's enduring inspiration for the nation, asserting that the name Gandhi is synonymous with India.
“The Iron Lady Indira Gandhi sacrificed her life to maintain the country's integrity. Rajiv Gandhi continued her legacy and also made the ultimate sacrifice. Inspired by Rajiv, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi embarked on the Bharat Jodo Yatra across India,” he remarked.
He concluded that three generations of the Gandhi family serve as a profound inspiration for the country.
Salman Khurshid received the award from the Chief Minister amidst the presence of state Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud, state minister P. Srinivas Reddy, former MP V. Hanumanth Rao, government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir, and other notable leaders.
