Hyderabad, Nov 11 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, along with his Cabinet members and other political figures, paid their last respects to the distinguished poet and lyricist Andesri, who was honored with police salutes during his burial at Ghatkesar, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Sadly, Andesri, renowned for composing the State anthem 'Jaya Jayahe Telangana', passed away on Monday.
The Chief Minister himself lifted the bier of Andesri before the final rites took place.
A squad of policemen rendered a gun salute, fired shots into the air, and maintained a two-minute silence to honor the illustrious poet.
The funeral procession commenced from Andesri's residence in Lalapet, traversing through Tarnaka and Uppal before reaching Ghatkesar.
The Chief Minister offered tributes to the poet and comforted his grieving family.
Notable figures like Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Sridhar Baby, Adluri Laxman, the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), Mahesh Kumar Goud, and senior leaders K. Keshava Rao, V. Hanumantha Rao, and Kodandaram were present at the last rites.
Family, friends, and relatives said their tearful goodbyes to Andesri, who succumbed to a cardiac arrest at the age of 64.
He was rushed to Gandhi Hospital late Sunday night after collapsing at his home in Lalapet.
