Hyderabad, March 9 (NationPress) Telangana's Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, on Monday, underscored the importance of the police force evolving consistently to confront the rising threats of cybercrime and the narcotics crisis.

The Chief Minister assured that the state government is prepared to tackle the concerns raised by law enforcement by establishing a committee chaired by State Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao in the near future.

During his involvement in the 'Telangana Police Retreat – 2026' at the Telangana Police Academy, CM Revanth Reddy noted that the police face two primary challenges: a technical challenge that can be addressed through resource allocation, and an adaptive challenge that necessitates a deeper understanding for resolution.

He recommended the enhancement of technology and the hiring of technical specialists, particularly in response to the surge in cybercrime.

The Chief Minister warned that reducing crime rates is unattainable unless the current police workforce is modernized.

He mentioned that a committee would be formed soon to evaluate the proposals from police officials aimed at addressing issues primarily related to cybercrime, narcotics, recruitment, and more.

The state government will make a final decision after reviewing the potential solutions, he added.

CM Revanth Reddy also urged the police to avoid complacency and continuously upgrade their skills, as they are often the first point of contact for citizens facing problems.

"In the past, terrorism and extremism posed significant challenges, leading to the establishment of specialized units like Octopus and Greyhounds. A new framework has also been introduced to combat crimes such as corruption," he stated.

Given the rapidly evolving nature of crime, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for strategic staff rationalization and population-centric policing.

Praising the dedication of police personnel in enhancing public service, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted that maintaining law and order is crucial for attracting more investments into the state.

The state government also introduced the "Telangana Rising 2047" policy document to prevent policy stagnation.

"We aim to develop the CURE region, encompassing over 2,100 km within the Outer Ring Road, to invite substantial investments," he remarked.

"Our vision is to achieve a three trillion US dollar economy by 2047," he added.

CM Revanth Reddy pointed out the escalating air pollution in New Delhi, as well as the traffic and flood challenges faced by metropolitan areas such as Mumbai and Chennai recently.

"We must learn from the experiences of these metropolitan cities," he concluded.

He reaffirmed the state government's commitment to allocating necessary funds for strengthening the police department.

Performance will dictate postings for police officers, he clarified.
