Hyderabad, Oct 17 (NationPress) The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) is set to begin its cotton procurement in Telangana following Diwali, as announced by Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, on Friday.
During a press conference, he stated that, similar to the previous year, the CCI is fully equipped for the cotton procurement process in Telangana, with 122 procurement centers established throughout the state.
Kishan Reddy urged farmers to avoid relying on middlemen who may offer low prices, cautioning against potential exploitation.
The minister emphasized that, following the directive from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the last quintal of cotton will be obtained.
He introduced the Kapas Kisan app, designed to eliminate corruption and ensure smooth procurement operations. The government remains committed to providing Minimum Support Price (MSP) for cotton producers.
Kishan Reddy also encouraged the residents of Telangana to join the Sardar@150 Unity March, a nationwide initiative led by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) to honor the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
He called on youth, students, public representatives, and citizens of Telangana to actively engage in this significant event.
He motivated the youth to spearhead national programs that reflect the ideals of selfless service, unity, and nation-building as envisioned by Sardar Patel.
Highlighting Patel's crucial contributions to Hyderabad's merger with the Indian Union, Kishan Reddy affirmed that without Patel's foresight and resolve, Hyderabad's integration into India might not have been achievable.
He added that the Sardar@150 Unity March celebrates the principles of national unity and youth engagement, inspired by Sardar Patel's legacy.
The march's objective is to involve young people across Telangana through padayatras, pledge drives, and cultural events over the next two months, promoting unity, patriotism, and civic duty among the youth, in tribute to Sardar Patel's lasting impact on India.
In alignment with Prime Minister Modi's vision for public involvement in national development, the Viksit Bharat Padyatras, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports through MY Bharat, are taking place nationwide to instill national pride, bolster unity, and encourage active civic participation among the youth.
The Sardar@150 Unity March is a vital component of this vision, motivating young individuals to adopt the principles of ‘Ek Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in their everyday lives.
The digital segment of the campaign commenced on October 6, 2025, featuring activities like social media reel competitions, essay contests, and the Sardar@150 Young Leaders Program Quiz for youth aged 15–29 years.
The first phase includes district-level padyatras from October 31 to November 25, 2025, occurring over three consecutive days in every parliamentary constituency, covering all districts nationwide with daily walks of 8–10 kilometers.
Ansuman Prasad Das, the in-charge State Director of MY Bharat, Telangana, and M. Ramakrishna, NSS Regional Director, Hyderabad, were also present at the event.
