In his address, the Chief Secretary highlighted the pressing need to expedite the adoption of EVs to meet sustainability objectives and facilitate a shift towards clean energy. He pointed out that a robust and extensive charging network is vital to build user confidence and accommodate the increasing demand for electric vehicles.
He also tasked officials with creating a detailed and forward-thinking plan for implementing EV charging infrastructure, incorporating both government initiatives and private sector involvement.
Emphasizing the necessity for coordinated efforts, he urged the establishment of a seamless ecosystem that guarantees the accessibility, reliability, and efficiency of charging facilities in both urban and rural settings.
Furthermore, the Chief Secretary instructed the development of a centralized, real-time dashboard to track and monitor the EV charging infrastructure across the state. This dashboard will be an essential tool for planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring transparency in the deployment of charging stations.
