Hyderabad, March 19 (NationPress) Chief Minister A. The government aims to elevate farmers to a status of “king” by endorsing agriculture as a profitable means of livelihood.

During the ‘Sri Parabhava Nama Ugadi’ festivities held in Hyderabad, CM Reddy expressed that this new Telugu year is dedicated to the welfare of farmers, with a mission to transform agriculture into a lucrative profession, thus elevating farmers to a “king” status.

Chief Minister Reddy pointed out that the government is providing bonuses alongside fair prices for agricultural products. He announced that funds from the 'Rythu Bharosa' initiative will be released and deposited into farmers' bank accounts on March 22.

He also disclosed that the state has already allocated ₹18,000 crore for the 'Rythu Bharosa' program.

To alleviate the burden on indebted farmers, the Telangana government has waived off farm loans up to ₹2 lakh for each grower.

“It’s a matter of immense pride that Telangana has the lowest debt levels among farmers in the entire nation. This is significant as 70% of families in Telangana rely on agriculture,” he affirmed.

In light of growing concerns regarding natural disasters, CM Reddy assured that the government remains vigilant.

On this auspicious occasion of Ugadi, the Chief Minister prayed for the prosperity and safety of the people of Telangana from natural calamities.

The primary official Ugadi celebration was organized by the Telangana Department of Language and Culture along with the Department of Endowments.

Attending the event were Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Konda Surekha, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Mahesh Kumar Goud, MP Vem Narender Reddy, MLAs, MLCs, Corporation Chairpersons, and other officials.
