Delhi, July 16 (NationPress) The Lt Governor (L-G) of J&K, Manoj Sinha, stated on Wednesday that since its inception, Pakistan has integrated terrorism into its state policy, which he claims is deeply embedded in its identity.
While speaking at an event in Delhi, he highlighted, “Just a few months post-independence, Pakistan initiated a tribal invasion of Kashmir. This wasn’t merely a tribal endeavor; a significant contingent of the Pakistan army participated in this aggression.
They advanced as far as Baramulla town, where they sought directions to Srinagar from Maqbool Sherwani. He misdirected them, causing a delay that ultimately enabled the Indian army’s arrival at the Srinagar airport.”
The L-G emphasized that Pakistan has served as a nurturing ground for terrorism since its early days and continues to do so.
“It is indeed unfortunate for us to have such a neighbor. Pakistan not only exports terrorism to India but also to various regions globally. This breeding ground of terrorism must be collectively confronted and eradicated,” he asserted.
He further stated, “Our intention has never been expansionist; it has always aimed for peace... If we reflect on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, it was only months after India achieved independence that Pakistan initiated its attack... Terrorism is embedded in Pakistan’s identity. The international community must join forces to tackle and eliminate the terrorism flourishing within Pakistan.”
In a recent interview, the L-G remarked that the Pahalgam attack was orchestrated by Pakistan to undermine peace and the flourishing tourism in Kashmir.
He acknowledged a security oversight and accepted accountability for this lapse. He noted that security forces have significantly reduced violence levels in J&K, which has alleviated fear among the populace.
“The people of Kashmir have turned away from terrorism, seeking a brighter future characterized by peace, improved education for children, accessible healthcare, and a dignified life with their families and friends,” he concluded.
