TGSRTC to Launch 6,432 Special Buses for Sankranti Celebration

Hyderabad, Dec 31 (NationPress) The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) revealed on Tuesday that it will run 6,432 special buses from Hyderabad to multiple locations in both Telugu states for the Sankranti festival.
TGSRTC officials indicated that a reservation option will be available for 557 services. Additionally, they plan to introduce electric buses on select routes.
The state-run transport organization has implemented extensive arrangements to ensure passengers can reach their destinations conveniently during Sankranti.
In 2024, TGSRTC initially planned to operate 4,484 buses, but due to a substantial influx of passengers, they ended up running 5,246 buses. Learning from past experiences during Sankranti, they have now opted to operate 6,432 buses. These special services will run from January 9 to January 15.
The buses will depart from several locations in Hyderabad, including MGBS, JBS, Central Bus Station, Aramghar, KPHB, Bowenpalli, Gachibowli, Uppal X Roads, and LB Nagar X Roads.
Special officers have been designated to coordinate the bus services from various points in the city based on passenger demand.
TGSRTC will also operate special buses to neighboring Andhra Pradesh, primarily to towns such as Amalapuram, Kakinada, Kandukur, Narsapuram, Polavaram, Rajahmundry, Rajole, Udayagiri, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Ongole, Guntur, Vijayawada, Srisailam, and Tirupati.
Buses will also be made available from different locations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for passengers returning to Hyderabad post-festival.
The TGSRTC authorities are looking to deploy electric buses from Karimnagar, Nizamabad, and Warangal.
Recognizing the significance of bus operations during Sankranti, TGSRTC management has instructed field officials to be fully prepared. Arrangements will include pandal, tents, chairs, public address systems, drinking water, mobile toilets, and other amenities at various embarkation points in Hyderabad.
Under the state government’s Mahalakshmi scheme, women will be granted free travel in Palle Velugu, Express, City Ordinary, and Metro Express buses, with women needing to collect zero tickets.
TGSRTC management encourages passengers to avoid risky travel in private vehicles and utilize TGSRTC's special bus services to safely reach their destinations.
