Mumbai, March 20 (NationPress) Shiv Sena-UBT leader Uddhav Thackeray cautioned on Thursday that those disseminating falsehoods regarding the Disha Salian death case may face repercussions themselves.
This statement followed targeted attacks against him and his son Aaditya Thackeray by MahaYuti allies, occurring just a day after Disha Salian's father lodged a petition for a CBI investigation naming Aaditya Thackeray.
The petitioner alleged that Disha Salian was raped and murdered.
“Our family has been in public view for six to seven generations. Hence, these allegations hold no merit. There is no truth in the Disha Salian case, and we have no connections to it. I urge those spreading lies that they will ultimately face consequences,” Thackeray remarked.
“I was astonished that this issue did not arise in the last two legislative sessions. Each session, this matter resurfaces. Farmers are suffering, and their funerals are ongoing—who is accountable? What about the murder of Beed's sarpanch, Santosh Deshmukh? His children seek justice. The Disha Salian case is currently under judicial review; thus, all evidence must be presented in court. Whatever Disha Salian's lawyer proposes should be communicated in court,” he stated to reporters.
Addressing the Nagpur violence, Thackeray asserted that the perpetrators who assaulted female police officers should face strict action, along with any instigators of the riot. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for advising his leaders against making inflammatory remarks.
“The very poison he tried to wield against the opposition is now harming the BJP,” he alleged.
He also criticized the state government concerning the Nagpur unrest.
“I appreciate the RSS for suppressing those who raised the issue of Aurangzeb's tomb. I am exhausted discussing old matters instead of focusing on the current situation that leads to riots, so I thank the RSS,” said Thackeray.
“In conclusion, there are many in power and only a few opposition parties. These few opposition parties are vigorously challenging the ruling coalition. Just today, a delegation from all parties met with the Governor to draw attention to the ruling alliance's actions that undermine democratic values,” Thackeray concluded.
