New Delhi, June 16 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for receiving Cyprus's highest civilian award, citing it as a testament to his leadership and India's evolving diplomatic presence globally.
“Congratulations to PM Shri @narendramodi Ji on being awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III from Cyprus,” remarked HM Shah in a social media post on X.
“This accolade highlights India's continually ascending profile on the international stage. It is the 21st global honor bestowed upon our PM, making him one of the most celebrated leaders in the annals of Indian history,” he noted.
HM Shah emphasized that such recognitions not only commend his leadership but also fortify India's diplomatic influence globally.
Previously, BJP leader Amit Malviya commended PM Modi's increasing international acclaim, referring to his 23 Global Honors as a reflection of India's rise on the world map.
Malviya, who oversees the BJP’s National Information and Technology Department, took to social media to acknowledge PM Modi’s recent honor, stating, “No Prime Minister of India has made such a significant impact globally.”
“This is not merely about one individual; it signifies the ascent of India’s economic power, strategic clarity, and diplomatic assertiveness on the global front. None of this would be feasible without the unwavering faith that 1.4 billion Indians have in PM Modi’s leadership,” he articulated on X.
Malviya also commented on the transformative shift in India’s diplomacy, compelling the world to recognize its potential.
“For the first time, India’s foreign policy is unapologetically India First — clear, confident, and consistent. The world is not just observing; it is acknowledging and respecting this new India,” he added.
Since 2016, Malviya enumerated the 23 global accolades awarded to PM Modi over the past decade. These include Saudi Arabia’s Order of King Abdulaziz in 2016 and the UAE’s Order of Zayed Award in 2019, as well as the 2020 US government’s Legion of Merit.
The list of PM Modi’s global honors also features Bhutan’s Order of the Druk Gyalpo in 2021 and Egypt’s Order of the Nile, France’s Grand Cross of the Legion, and Greece’s Grand Cross of the Order of Honour, all awarded in 2023.
Malviya’s enumeration of PM Modi’s honors from last year includes Russia’s Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, Kuwait’s The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer, and awards from Guyana, Barbados, Nigeria, and Dominica.
