Chandigarh, March 15 (NationPress) – The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) of Punjab Police in Mohali has apprehended three additional operatives associated with the Pakistan-based, ISI-supported Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Harvinder Singh, known as Rinda, as stated by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on Saturday.

The apprehended individuals are Jagjit Singh, also referred to as Jaggi, and Shubham Khelbude, both hailing from Nanded in Maharashtra, along with Gurdeep Singh, known as Deepa, from Ropar.

Authorities have also seized two firearms: a 12-bore pump-action shotgun containing 15 cartridges and a .32-caliber pistol with eight cartridges.

This incident follows previous arrests of individuals including Jagdish Singh (alias Jagga), Shubhdeep Singh (alias Shubh), and Sachindeep Singh (alias Sachin) related to the murder case in Nanded.

With these new arrests, the total number of suspects detained in this matter has reached six.

DGP Yadav noted that preliminary investigations indicate that the arrested Jagjit was instrumental in providing logistics, safe houses, and coordination for the shooters involved in the murder, orchestrated by Rinda from abroad.

Further inquiries have highlighted the involvement of incarcerated gangster Dilpreet (alias Baba), a long-time ally of Rinda, who arranged safe havens in Punjab for the suspects.

The DGP elaborated that Jagjit Singh is wanted for charges including murder, attempted murder, threats, and extortion, while Khelbude faces charges related to threats and extortion in Nanded, having traveled to Punjab to avoid capture. Both Jagjit Singh and Khelbude played active roles in coordinating various illicit operations, including arms procurement, extortion collection, and logistical support on the directives of Rinda.

Gurdeep Singh, the third suspect, was arrested for providing refuge and logistical assistance to fugitives Jagjit Singh and Khelbude, significantly contributing to their evasion and ongoing criminal activities, as added by the DGP.
