Jaipur, June 28 (NationPress) In a significant overhaul of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), the BJP government led by Bhajan Lal Sharma has restructured the ad hoc committee, which resulted in the removal of BJP MLA Jaideep Bihani. Deendayal Kumawat, who serves as the President of the Sawai Madhopur District Cricket Association, has been appointed as the new convenor.
The newly formed five-member committee features the sons of three influential BJP leaders.
Mohit Yadav, the son of Jaswant Yadav, President of the Alwar District Cricket Association and MLA, along with Ashish Tiwari, the son of Ghanshyam Tiwari, a Rajya Sabha MP and treasurer of the Sikar District Cricket Association, have been included as committee members.
Dhananjay Singh Khinvsar, son of Gajendra Singh Khimsar, the Minister and President of the Jodhpur District Cricket Association, has been reappointed to the committee. Additionally, Pinkesh Kumar Jain, Secretary of the Pratapgarh District Cricket Association and a member of the BJP media cell, is among the new appointments.
The committee is set for a three-month term and has been assigned the crucial task of organizing the RCA executive elections before September this year.
The previous committee, which was established on March 28 last year after dissolving the RCA executive, failed to conduct elections, despite going through five reconstitutions.
While the Bihani-led panel had six members, the newly established committee consists of five. Internal conflicts were a significant issue for the last committee.
Bihani had public disputes with members Dharamveer Singh and Ratan Singh, leading to accusations of him being a “dictator” from both Singh and Khinvsar.
Allegations regarding the misuse of BCCI funds also emerged during Bihani's leadership.
Bihani had planned a general body meeting in Pushkar for June 20, which was canceled on June 18 due to intervention by Chief Minister Sharma. This cancellation heightened speculation about an impending restructuring within the RCA's ad hoc committee, a move that has now come to fruition.
