Throngs of Visitors Celebrate New Year at Valmiki Tiger Reserve

Patna, Jan 1 (NationPress) The Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) along with the nearby ranges of Manguraha and Gobardhana are experiencing a vibrant atmosphere as a large number of tourists arrive to mark the first day of the New Year on Wednesday.

With an expected turnout exceeding 100,000 visitors, this year’s attendance is significantly higher than the 70,000 seen in the previous year.

Beginning in the early hours, tourists have been pouring in, setting up tents and enjoying picnics amidst the stunning natural scenery of the reserve.

Accommodations, including hotels, restaurants, and private homestays, are completely booked to service the increasing number of visitors.

This remarkable rise in tourism not only highlights VTR's popularity as a New Year’s destination but also emphasizes its growing reputation as a center for leisure and recreation.

The administration of VTR has put in place extensive strategies to handle the considerable influx of tourists and prioritize safety during the New Year festivities.

Security measures involving personnel from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), local police, and the forest department have been established throughout the area.

Continuous surveillance of forest regions and heightened vigilance against unusual activities at popular tourist spots are being maintained to ensure order.

In addition to VTR, tourists are also exploring nearby picturesque locations such as Paniyhava along the banks of the Gandak River, the Dhanaha-Ratwal Bridge, and Nandangarh in Lauriya.

Security provisions have been expanded to encompass all these sites to manage the high tourist traffic.

Dr. Neshamani, the Forest Conservator and Area Director, confirmed the increase in visitors to VTR’s attractions and emphasized the thorough preparations made by the administration.

Located in the Bagaha subdivision of West Champaran district on the Indo-Nepal border, VTR is renowned for its rich biodiversity.

It houses tigers, leopards, blackbucks, and numerous other species, making it a preferred destination for nature lovers and holidaymakers alike.
