Tiger from Sariska Reserve Found in Alwar Farmhouse Kitchen, Successfully Tranquilised

Jaipur, Jan 3 (NationPress) A tiger ST-2402 from Sariska Tiger Reserve, which had assaulted three people close to the Dausa border, was located inside the kitchen of a farmhouse on Chilkibas Road in Raini, Alwar early Friday morning and was subsequently tranquilised by the Forest Department.

Upon receiving notification of the big cat's location at around 6 a.m., the Forest Department undertook the tranquilisation operation that lasted three hours.

The tiger had ventured into Dausa on January 1 and attacked three individuals. Following these incidents, it retraced its steps back towards the Dausa-Alwar border.

Fortunately, the tiger was captured within the farmhouse premises, as tranquilising the animal in open fields would have presented significant difficulties.

Ranger Krishna Kumar confirmed the successful tranquilisation of the tiger.

The forest teams had been monitoring the tiger closely. On Thursday, the big cat's pugmarks were detected at various locations near Raini.

The situation became critical when reports confirmed the tiger's presence inside the farmhouse kitchen. Teams from the Forest Department quickly mobilised to the scene, accompanied by a substantial gathering of intrigued villagers.

Teams from Jaipur and Sariska have converged to assist in the tranquilisation of the tiger. The medical team, including Dr. Deendayal Meena from Sariska, is also on-site, collaborating with a separate team dedicated to the tranquilisation operation.

Tiger ST-2402 had been roaming outside Sariska for several months and was spotted on Wednesday, January 1, when it unexpectedly entered Bandikui village, causing widespread panic.

During the pursuit, the tiger attempted to attack forest workers. On Wednesday morning, the feline caused damage to the glass of a Forest Department vehicle.

Search initiatives continued over two days, concentrating on the mustard fields where the tiger had been sighted. Drone footage captured images of the tiger, and its pugmarks were located in the fields on Thursday morning, assisting the team in tracking its movements.
