Chennai, May 17 (NationPress) Amidst the relentless summer heat, torrential rains, and thunderstorms sweeping across Tamil Nadu, Transport and Electricity Minister S.S. Sivasankar conducted a thorough review of public grievances related to electricity and the overall system readiness on Saturday.
The Minister inspected Minnagam, the 24-hour consumer grievance redressal center at the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (TNPDCL) headquarters, to evaluate the effectiveness of complaint management and the efficiency of rapid response systems.
Speaking to reporters, Sivasankar revealed that the workforce at Minnagam has been increased from 65 to 94 effective May 5, 2025, to manage the surge in complaints, particularly during the scorching summer.

Since its inception, Minnagam has recorded a total of 35,27,939 complaints, with 35,16,155 of them resolved, reflecting a remarkable resolution rate of 99.67%.

During his review, the Minister urged officials to prioritize areas experiencing frequent power outages and to investigate the underlying causes for long-term solutions.
