Toyota Kirloskar Motors will invest Rs 1,200 crore to establish a world-first 'BizIntel Hub' in Karnataka's ambitious Queen City project, located between Dabaspet and Doddaballapur, north of Bengaluru. The Chief Minister's Office of Karnataka announced on Monday, 25 May 2026 that a formal agreement was signed at an event held at Kaveri in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil.

The Memorandum of Understanding was executed between S. Selvakumar, Principal Secretary of the Department of Industries, Government of Karnataka, and Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Special Projects at Toyota Kirloskar Motors. The signing took place in the presence of senior state and company officials, including KIADB CEO Govind Reddy, Industries Commissioner Khushboo Goyal, and Toyota's Chief Technical Officer Yoshinori Noritake.

Speaking at the event, CM Siddaramaiah said: 'Hudikaige namma sarkara sampurna sahakara nidali de' ('Our government will extend full cooperation to this investment'). He added that hearing about a facility of this kind being set up 'for the first time in the world' was a matter of pride, and that it would generate 'hundreds of jobs' for the state's youth.

Context: Queen City and the Dabaspet-Doddaballapur Corridor

The Queen City is a greenfield industrial township being developed by the Karnataka government along the Dabaspet–Doddaballapur corridor, a zone identified by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) as a priority cluster for automobile, engineering, and logistics industries. The corridor sits roughly 40–50 kilometres north of central Bengaluru, offering large contiguous land parcels that the city's saturated tech belt cannot provide.

The state government has committed to allotting 300 acres of land to Toyota for this facility. The BizIntel Hub is envisioned to host vehicle manufacturing, testing operations, and a modern vehicle production plant under one integrated campus.
