Tragic Incident in Tirupati: Two Devotees Lose Lives as Ambulance Crashes

Tirupati, Jan 6 (NationPress) Two devotees tragically lost their lives and three more were injured when a 108 ambulance lost control in Tirupati district on Monday.
The vehicle struck a group of devotees who were walking on foot to the Tirumala temple. The incident took place near Narasingapuram in the Chandragiri mandal.
Sadly, two women were pronounced dead at the scene, while three others sustained injuries. The victims have been identified as Pedda Reddamma (40) and Lakshmamma (45), both hailing from Champalapalli in the Ramasamudram mandal of Annamayya district.
The group of devotees was en route to the Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirumala from Punganur, while the ambulance was transporting a patient from Madanapalle to Tirupati. The injured individuals were promptly transferred to Ruia Hospital in Tirupati.
The exact cause of the accident remains uncertain. Authorities believe that thick fog in the area might have contributed to the tragic event.
The Chandragiri police have opened a case and are conducting an investigation.
Every day, numerous devotees make their way to the renowned hill shrine of Tirumala by walking from various locations. Thousands of pilgrims from diverse regions of Andhra Pradesh and beyond visit the temple daily.
In a separate incident, two women perished in a fire at a house in Bapatla district late Sunday night. The fire broke out at Turpu Bazar in Parchur shortly after midnight. Two sisters lost their lives in the blaze, while their mother sustained injuries.
The deceased were identified as Nagamani (34) and Madhavi Latha (30). The injured individual was taken to a local hospital.
Authorities suspect that the fire may have resulted from a short circuit.
In another fire-related incident, a physically challenged individual was tragically killed. This accident occurred in Kotha colony within the Nallajerla mandal of East Godavari district. According to police reports, a thatched house caught fire during the night of Sunday into Monday. Namala Daneyulu (28), who had a physical disability, was trapped in the flames and lost his life. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
