Tragic Loss: Four Family Members Succumb to Food Poisoning in Rajouri, J&K

Jammu, Dec 8 (NationPress) Four individuals belonging to a single family tragically passed away from food poisoning on Sunday in Rajouri district, J&K.

Authorities confirmed that the victims included three minors and occurred in Badhal Gorla village, located in the Budhal area of Rajouri district.

The mother and her daughter are currently hospitalized and receiving treatment. The entire family fell ill after consuming food at their residence. While they were all rushed to the hospital, unfortunately, four members could not survive, while the mother and one daughter are still under care. Medical professionals have reported that the mother is now considered out of danger.

The deceased family members include Fazal Hussain, aged 40, along with his daughters, Rabia Kousar and Farmana Kousar, and his son, Raftar Ahmad.

The mother, identified as Shamima Akhtar, is stable, although her other daughter, Ruksar, remains in serious condition, according to officials.

Fazal Hussain, his wife Shamima Akhtar, aged 38, and their four children from Badhal Gorla village were admitted to the Rajouri Government Medical College hospital due to severe dyspepsia late on Saturday evening, as reported.

Hussain unfortunately passed away during treatment in the early hours of Sunday, whereas his wife and children were referred to Jammu for specialized medical care.

Three of the children, Rabia Kousar, 15, Farmana Kousar, 12, and Raftar Ahmad, 4, died at the Jammu Hospital. Akhtar and her remaining daughter Ruksar, 12, are still receiving treatment.

The entire village is enveloped in shock and grief, mourning the loss of four family members due to food poisoning, which has sparked fear and anxiety among the locals.

Residents have urged that the precise cause of this tragic food poisoning incident be thoroughly investigated and made public to ensure vigilance regarding food safety in the community.

The police have initiated a case related to this occurrence and launched an investigation.

Preliminary inquiries have shown no evidence of any foul play in this case.
