Bhopal/Satna, April 20 (NationPress) A horrifying and tragic event has rocked Madhya Pradesh, as an 11-year-old boy was cruelly murdered on Monday in Bank Colony, Satna district.

Reports indicate that the perpetrator allegedly used a sickle, known locally as hansiya, to slit the child’s throat before concealing the body in a blue drum, locking the rented residence from outside, and fleeing the scene right after the heinous act.

This shocking crime, which falls under the jurisdiction of Kolgawan Police Station, has left the victim’s family shattered and the entire community engulfed in fear, anxiety, and grief.

The victim, a fifth-grade student, belonged to a family originally from Nayagaon within the Sabhapur Police Station area, and was residing in a rental home in Satna.

It has been reported that the boy’s father struggles with mental health issues and works as a laborer in Nashik, Maharashtra, seldom visiting. Meanwhile, his mother works as a cleaner, the elder brother engages in daily wage labor, and the sister is a college student.

According to police and family accounts, the tragic incident transpired around 3:30 p.m. on April 20, 2026, while the young boy was home alone, as his mother had left for work along with other family members.

Upon her return around 3 p.m., she discovered the house locked from the outside. Her suspicions were raised when she noticed one of her son's shoes at the doorstep and the ceiling fan still running inside.

After failing to find her son despite searching the nearby areas, she alerted her older son and daughter before reaching out to the police for immediate assistance.

Kolgawan police, led by Station In-charge Sudip Soni, together with FSL officer Mahendra Singh and ASP City Shivesh Singh Baghel, arrived at the scene and forced entry into the house.

The findings were chilling: blood stains scattered on the floor, a blood-soaked pillow on the bed, and blood splatters on the walls.

Following the blood trail, officers discovered the boy's body concealed within a blue drum. He had been tragically killed by having his throat slit with a sharp sickle.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the specifics of the injuries and the precise cause of death.

The suspect has been identified as Mathura Rajak, 45, a local resident of the Satna Bus Stand area who operates a dry-cleaning shop nearby.

Authorities suspect that the motive behind the crime stems from a personal grudge and previous disputes with the victim's family. Reports suggest an ongoing feud involving the boy's mother.

The mother has claimed that Mathura had been harassing her and had attempted to communicate with her. When she ceased interactions, he allegedly began to threaten her children as retribution.

“They used to converse occasionally. Once she stopped, Mathura began threatening to kill the children,” she told police, directly implicating him in the murder.

Some reports also connect the motive to a recent conflict between Mathura and the boy's father about ten days prior to the incident.

After executing the crime, Mathura reportedly locked the house from the outside and fled the area. His shop remains closed, and his mobile phone is currently turned off.

The police have registered a case related to the incident and initiated a significant manhunt to apprehend the suspect promptly.

“The accused will be captured soon,” assured Station In-charge Sudip Soni, committing to swift action in this case.
