Hathras, March 3 (NationPress) A deadly road incident on the Yamuna Expressway resulted in the loss of six lives, comprising three women and three men, with several others sustaining injuries. The tragic collision occurred near the 141 milestone, within the jurisdiction of the Sadabad police station in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district early Tuesday morning.

The unfortunate event took place around 4:00 a.m. in the vicinity of the Hariya Garhi Chowki area. Police reports indicate that a double-decker bus collided with the van from behind, leading to a catastrophic crash. The force of the impact was significant, causing multiple fatalities at the scene.

Upon receiving news of the accident, the Additional Superintendent of Police, along with the Circle Officer of Sadabad and the Inspector-in-Charge, swiftly arrived at the location with a police team. The injured were promptly rescued and transported to local hospitals for urgent medical care.

Among the deceased, six individuals from the van, which included three women and three men, tragically lost their lives. Additionally, three young children and three other individuals (two men and one woman) suffered serious injuries. The injured children were transferred to S.N. Medical College in Agra for specialized treatment, while the others were admitted to CHC Khandauli. Fortunately, two of the injured are reported to be out of danger. The situation at the accident site is currently stable, with ongoing legal proceedings.

All passengers in the van were en route from Prem Nagar, Delhi, to Dholpur, Rajasthan. Police officials clarified that the passengers were not related and had boarded the vehicle from various locations. Notably, the driver of the van emerged unscathed. The bus, operated by Travel Point, was traveling from Noida to Gorakhpur at the time of the accident.

In a statement to the press, SP Chiranjeev Nath Sinha remarked, “A tragic road accident occurred today at approximately 4:20 a.m. on the Yamuna Expressway between milestones 141 and 145, resulting in the immediate death of six individuals.”

The injured have been identified as Manoj, son of Suresh Chandra; his wife Rani; and their four-year-old son Jaideep, all residents of Bajna under Rajakheda police station in Dholpur district, Rajasthan.

Among those who lost their lives, two have been identified as Dinesh (45), son of Hukam Singh, and his wife Sunita (40), from Gangoli village, also under Rajakheda police station in Dholpur district. Their families have been notified, according to officials.
