Patna, Feb 23 (NationPress) Three individuals lost their lives when a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) collided with a stationary container truck in the Kaimur district of Bihar early Sunday morning.

The accident took place in Chilbili village, under the jurisdiction of the Kudra police station, around 6 a.m., injuring three others.

The deceased were residents of Jamui and Lakhisarai districts, returning from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj at the time of the incident.

All of the victims were passengers in the SUV, with the crash attributed to the vehicle’s excessive speed.

One passenger was thrown from the vehicle and died instantly.

The Kudra SHO informed IANS that two individuals died at the scene, while another passed away at the Kudra Primary Health Centre (PHC).

The SHO stated, "We have rescued all injured individuals and provided them with medical care. The seriously injured have been sent to Bhabhua Sadar Hospital."

The deceased have been identified as Rajit Khan (55) and Sudha Devi (35), both from Sikri village, along with an unidentified woman from Etah village, Lakhisarai. The critically injured individuals, Kaishar Alam and Veena Devi, were also referred to Bhabhua Sadar Hospital, while Soni Kumari, who sustained injuries, remains under treatment at the Kudra PHC.

Shahil Raj from Kudra PHC stated, "Kaishar Alam and Veena Devi have sustained severe injuries and have been referred to Sadar Hospital Bhabhua, while Soni Kumari is still receiving care at our facility."

Authorities are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Drivers are advised to exercise caution on highways to avoid similar tragedies.

Just a day prior, six people died in a similar incident involving a vehicle crashing into a parked truck in Bhojpur district.

The victims hailed from Patna and were also returning from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
