Patna, Jan 26 (NationPress) A significant road mishap occurred in Patna when a speeding Scorpio SUV struck three individuals in the Pirmohani area under the Kadamkuan police station on Monday morning. One victim tragically lost their life at the scene, while two others suffered severe injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Munna Kumar (41), a resident of Khatal Gali.

With assistance from local residents and law enforcement, the body was transported to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for a post-mortem examination.

The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at the same medical facility.

Preliminary reports indicate that Munna Kumar, an employee of the municipal corporation, was working at the residence of a BJP leader at the time of the incident.

Another municipal employee and a paper vendor also sustained injuries in the accident.

The driver of the Scorpio fled the scene immediately after the incident, prompting police to initiate a manhunt and review CCTV footage from nearby locations to identify the vehicle and capture the suspect.

This tragic event has left the family of the victim devastated.

Police officials confirmed that an investigation is ongoing, and strict measures will be enforced once the suspect is located.

In a separate unfortunate incident in Samastipur district, two young siblings perished shortly after a Saraswati Puja immersion ceremony when a tractor overturned late Sunday night.

The accident occurred near the Shanti River bridge under the Chakmehsi police station, as a tractor carrying villagers returning from idol immersion lost control and fell into a roadside ditch.

The deceased children have been identified as Abhiraj (7) and Anushka (4), children of Umashankar Thakur, residents of Bhusakaul village under Chakmehsi Panchayat.

Two other children were seriously injured in the incident.

Upon notification, local residents rushed to the scene and informed the police.

Using a JCB machine, locals and police extricated the children trapped beneath the overturned tractor.

Unfortunately, Abhiraj and Anushka had succumbed to their injuries by this time.

The injured children, sons of Vijay Trivedi and Thandi Ram, also residents of the same village, were first taken to Kalyanpur Primary Health Centre for initial treatment and later referred to Sadar Hospital, Samastipur due to their critical condition.

Local residents stated that the tractor overturned while trying to make way for another vehicle.

All passengers were returning after immersing the idol of Goddess Saraswati in the Shanti River.

Chakmehsi SHO Manish Kumar confirmed that the bodies of the two deceased children have been sent for post-mortem examination.

He added that all individuals involved in the accident belong to Chakmehsi Panchayat.

In the aftermath of the incident, Sadar Inspector Neeraj and Circle Officer Shashi Ranjan also arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

Both incidents have cast a shadow of grief over the affected families and raised serious concerns regarding road safety and negligence.
